Ladies Celebrate International Holiday

Bulgarian men have it tough Wednesday, with flower prices rocketing sky high, and women all around them eagerly expecting a colorful March 8 gift for their holiday.

Internationally recognized as Women's Day, the holiday is often scolded by some women claiming that they'd rather be respected and celebrated every day, but many still enjoy their holiday nevertheless.

On this day women celebrate their economic, political and social achievements. In Bulgaria, however, this day traditionally has been mostly about paying a tribute to mothers.
