Schoolgirls who were allegedly abused at Oprah Winfrey's academy in South Africa, will soon testify at an upcoming trial in Philadelphia.
Schoolgirls who were allegedly abused at Oprah Winfrey's academy in South Africa, will soon testify at an upcoming trial in Philadelphia.

The talk-show host herself will be a witness when the school's former headmistress sues her for defamation.

During a 2007 scandal, in which a dormitory matron was charged with abusing six students, Oprah Winfrey told a TV audience she had lost confidence in headmistress Nomvuyo Mzamane and had decided to "clean house" at the academy.

Mzamane has said she had trouble finding a new job after the Winfrey comments.

The defamation case is expected to last for two-weeks starting March 29th.

Winfrey comments lead to defamation case

Its her right to sue Oprah for any wrong, real or perceived. Oprah will defend herself. She apparently has a case, seeing that the court refused to throw out her case, insisting she had grounds. But Oprah would have access to the best lawyers. Let’s see how it plays out.

Nomvuyo Mzamane - what kind of name is that? If she didn’t have better control oer abusers at school, then she should be fired. She could leave that experience off her resume. But she probably got more money from that gig than she ever earned before- so she wants to keep $$$ coming in. Parasite! She could change her name if she’s serious about getting a job - or go get qualified! She probably lied on her application in the first place. Oprah should have screened employees herself, from good American women- not freaks who might have mental illness from living in that God-forsaken place.. teach these young girls what life is like in the real world, not some institution run by S&M freaks

    TEACHER,,GET REAL ,,

ITS NOT UNUSUAL FOR USA COURTS TO HAVE THIS HEARD BUT ITS MORE A JOKE BCOZ, OPRAH HAS THE RIGHT TO SACK HER & GIVE THE PUBLIC THE REASON FOR HER SACKING & HAVE IT MADE PUBLIC WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO HER ACADEMY.IF THIS SO CALLED MATRON DID SUCH ACT, SHES CERTAILY UNFIT TO BE AT THIS WELL SET UP SCHOOL FOR THE LESS FORTUNATE BY GIVING THEM A DECENT LIFE BUT ONLY TO BE DISAPPOINTED BY HIRING SOMEONE WHO WAS SHEER HELL. IMAGINE WHAT THE YOUNG GIRLS HAD TO ENDURE? HOPE ITS A REAL LESSON TO THIS SICK MATRON WHEN THE JUDGE CAN SEE WHAT OPRAH HAS DONE & ONLY TO BE LET DOWN. THIS SICKENING WOMAN HAS THE AUDACITY TO SUE OPRAH?? OPRAH TRUSTED HER & SHE DID THIS TO HERSELF ,, SO WHY SHOULD OPRAH BE BLAMED FOR HER SICK ACT?? I HOPE THIS JUDGE IN THIS CASE HAS EYES & EARS TO KNOW ITS SICK TO HEAR THIS MAD WOMAN SUE OPRAH. JUST SHUT HER UP & DONT WASTE THE JUDGES TIME WHEN THERE ARE MORE IMPORTANT CASES TO HE HEARD.
